Put up Yer Dukes

That time of year again. It's our annual holiday mixer. As per usual, December 26th, a day we've been affectionately calling Boxing Day. So put on your x-mas jeans and grab the 20 sheet that you got from your unloved auntie in an unthoughtful card and cure your bad case of stir crazy.

As You've come to expect, we've got some great guests in tow, it's free to get in, they got some half decent beer and the service is good enough.

The Parkton Preservation Society always guarantees you'll get what you pay for....in this case, zero percent of your x-mas haul...it's free admittance ya cheapskates, 'cause yes, we realize we're worth as much as you think we are.

The Mean, The Strawmen, We are Action and a band called The Squirts. All on a saturday night.

What more could you want,...if the word talent just crossed your mind, well, what do you know anyways.

it's time, fire up the tape machine.

It's time to make a record.. and into our hovels we will go. With a few draftees, we'll be locking ourselves up till we have a full length album put to tape and sent off to the pressers, not actual tape, but an actual pressing factory, with employees......and to prove it's tasteless to wish godspeed upon thyself, godspeed Mean, go forth, commit thy sound to a vessel suitable for audio playback.

The Mean in Here Magazine.

We did an interview with TJ Milburn for [here] magazine, so I thought I'd put it up on the site, for archival purposes I suppose. We used to never keep track of these things, so it's a good a time as any to start.

If I can find any old press things about us, I'll put them up too, but for now….here t'is, the link.

Also of note. Our cohorts The Strawmen, who you may recall from a couple Parkton Preservation Society events, also got some press. For posterity's sake, read all about it….link.

september is always such a pretty time of year.

The leaves are changing, the summer has gone and you can feel winter coming around the corner. It's the perfect time of the year to celebrate the fine art of self inflicted brain damage by punishing your hearing with loud loud loud rock'n'roll. Join us, as we play the hot days away with monctonians turned haligonians, The Bad Motels.

Also on the line-up for this enchanting fall evening, the thoughtful sounds of Billy Ray Cyborg, with a sound even your grand mother would enjoy, if your gran liked punk rock and you know your gran was always a bit of a sadist.

Friday September the 25th at The Paramount Lounge, bring 7 dollars to get in, and as much as you like to purchase spirits and other fermented beverages of your choosing. Alcohol makes the heart grow fonder at the same time as lowering your standards.

all this and more....

August 21st, The Mean are Playing Saxby's in the sleepy satellite town of Riverview, obviously, across the river from dear ol' Moncton. We've got some sympathizers in tow. All the way from the port city of Halifax, a band we have admired from afar, The Baketones. I expect to have my mind blown, you should too.

Also on the bill, making their not so long awaited debut, The Beaten Hearts. It's our ex-cohort Ray 13's new group with import Brian LaManna and a couple of the Fear Of Lipstick lads, Jerms and Lounder to be precise. If you lived in this town, you'll know what to expect from this band.

I suspect we'll have someone playing yours and our favorite records all night and it's only 4 stinkin dollars to get in....what more could you ask for, not much.

Another fine evening brought to you by your potential love interests, The Parkton Preservation Society.
